We all want a healthy chihuahua, and like us, they are what they eat. Heres an easy healthy hack that anyone can do. Feeding sprouting seeds to your chihuahua can have huge health benefits. They are extremely effective at removing heavy metal toxins that are found in processed foods. Plus, when crushed, they produce an anti-cancer enzyme sulforaphane.
Growing sprouts for your chihuahua is easy-peasy and very cheap!
Now your convinced that growing sprouts is great for a healthy chihuahua, it’s easy to get started, all you need is a wide-mouth glass jar, some muslin cloth and some sprouting seeds, and you’re ready to go. You can buy sprouting seed kits that make the whole thing easier here. Here are nine easy steps to growing sprouts for your chihuahua.
1. Select your sprout seeds: Choose seeds that are specifically labeled for sprouting, such as alfalfa, broccoli, radish, or mung beans. Make sure the seeds are fresh and of high quality.
2. Gather your supplies: You will need a wide-mouthed glass jar (a mason jar works well), a sprouting lid or cheesecloth, water, and your chosen seeds. You can buy sprouting seed jars that have little trays to collect any drips.
3. Measure the seeds: Depending on the size of your jar, measure around 1-2 tablespoons of seeds. Avoid overcrowding the jar to ensure proper airflow and sprouting.
4. Optional. Rinse the seeds in ACV: Place the seeds in the jar of filtered water and add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. This helps prevent the seeds getting moldy. Let it sit for around 10 minutes then rinse several times.
5. Allow the seeds to soak for 8–12 hours in filtered water, or overnight. This step helps to kick-start the germination process.
6. Drain and rinse the seeds twice a day for 3–5 days.
7. When the seeds have sprouted, place them on a sunny windowsill and they will go green.
8. Rinse and drain them, then you can keep them in the fridge for about 5 days.
